Copyright and Licensing Policy

The JURMAKOMBIS Copyright and Licensing Policy governs copyright ownership of published articles, authors’ rights to reuse their work, and the licensing terms applicable to articles and other materials published through the journal.

Copyright Ownership

Copyright in each article published in JURMAKOMBIS remains with the author or authors, in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. Publication by JURMAKOMBIS does not transfer copyright ownership from the author(s) to the journal.

Right of First Publication

Authors grant JURMAKOMBIS the right to be the first publication venue for articles that have been accepted and approved for publication. This right of first publication does not affect the authors’ ownership of copyright in their work.

Authors’ Rights to Reuse Their Work

Authors may continue to reuse their published articles, including by depositing or distributing them through institutional repositories, personal repositories, books, conference proceedings, or other academic platforms, provided that such use complies with the applicable license and acknowledges that the article was first published in JURMAKOMBIS.

  • Authors must identify JURMAKOMBIS as the original publication venue.
  • Authors must provide the article’s bibliographic information and its DOI or URL, where available.
  • Reuse must not omit the authors’ names or attribution to the original publication.

Creative Commons Licensing

Articles published in JURMAKOMBIS are distributed under the Creative Commons license specified on the article. This license permits the public to reuse the work in accordance with its terms while preserving the authors’ moral rights and right to attribution.

JURMAKOMBIS applies the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license as its publication license where this license is explicitly stated on the article and the journal website. Under this license, others may copy, distribute, display, perform, adapt, and create derivative works from the material for various purposes, including commercial purposes, provided that appropriate attribution is given to the author(s) and JURMAKOMBIS is identified as the source of publication.

Attribution Requirements

Any use, distribution, reproduction, or adaptation of JURMAKOMBIS articles must provide appropriate attribution to the author(s) and the publication source.

  • Name(s) of the author(s).
  • Article title.
  • Name of the journal, JURMAKOMBIS.
  • Year of publication.
  • DOI or article URL, where available.
  • A statement indicating whether changes or adaptations have been made to the original material.

Reuse and Redistribution

Others may reuse and redistribute articles in accordance with the terms of CC BY 4.0. Such use must be responsible and must not imply that the original author(s) or JURMAKOMBIS endorses a particular use or adaptation unless such endorsement has been expressly granted.

Third-Party Materials

Materials in an article originating from third parties, such as images, photographs, tables, illustrations, data, or other content subject to separate copyright, may be governed by different licensing terms. Users are responsible for checking the copyright and licensing notices accompanying such materials before reusing them.

Relationship with the Open Access Policy

This Copyright and Licensing Policy operates in conjunction with the JURMAKOMBIS Open Access Policy. Free access to articles does not mean that copyright protection is waived. All reuse must comply with the applicable license and include appropriate attribution.

Closing Provisions

The JURMAKOMBIS Copyright and Licensing Policy may be reviewed and updated periodically to reflect changes in journal policies, scholarly publishing practices, Creative Commons licensing, and applicable laws and regulations.
